This family of Converters is ideal for satellite communication system applications. These designs combine Lucix experience in Satellite Telecommunications System Engineering with expertise in ultra-stable, low phase noise Dielectric Resonator Oscillators (DROs), low noise amplifiers (LNAs), frequency converter modules, and high Q filters, to produce a best-in-class, feature-rich frequency converter. The main microwave internal modules are all designed and manufactured by Lucix, and reflect aluminum-packaged hermetic hybrid MIC assembly technology for added reliability and high performance. These slim, all welded 19” rack assemblies provide L-band to Ka-Band translation and feature an extensive array of standard monitor/control features including a Summary Alarm with automatic RF output muting, external RF muting, compatibility with either 5 or 10 MHz external references, and a built-in ultra-stable DRO/LO reference. These converters can also be scaled to other RF frequency bands as high as 45 GHz.

Optional Features
Ka-Band Block Converters
  • Multiple Converters . Single or multiple RF frequency converters per rack assembly. Multiple converters can be in straight or redundancy configuration.
  • Gain adjustment . Lucix offers either front-panel or rear-panel continuously –variable gain adjustment up to 30 dB. With optional remote control, gain can be electronically adjusted 20 dB in 0.2 dB steps.
  • Remote telemetry control . Remote access is available through either RJ-45 Ethernet or RS 422/485 serial rear-panel interface. Summary alarm and gain control may be remotely accessed with this option.
  • Alarms . Summary and Redundancy alarms via DE-9P connector.
  • Modules / Plate Mount These Ka Up / Down Converters are also available as a single integrated module or as multiple modules plate mounted. Power can be primary or secondary.
  • Reference Source Transfer Auto transfer to internal crystal reference if external reference is lost
